My journey into Wellness began in 2003 at the age of 51. I was a recent empty nester. During the previous 23 years, my husband and I raised three exceptional children. We have been married for more than four decades. Taking care of myself was not my priority until 2003 when I took a course on nutrition. The information I learned from this course gave me the tools I needed to begin my transformation. I began exercising for the first time since following the early Jane Fonda videos. Taking Pilates classes was my mode of exercise at first. Soon after, I joined a gym. It was at this gym that I took my first yoga class. At this point in my life, I was not very flexible and had not realized how much I needed yoga. The instructor was kind and patient. Over time, I came to appreciate the benefits of yoga. In 2011, at the age of 59, I decided to become certified as a yoga instructor so that I could bring yoga into the lives of other women. Teaching one-on-one private sessions is my expertise. I thrive on personalizing each session for my clients, adjusting each session to meet them where they are that day. I have taught private yoga sessions for women continually since 2011. In 2014, wonderful grandchildren began to enter my life. I enjoy spending time with them, gardening, raising chickens, crafting, and so much more.
During the summer of 2020, at the height of the Pandemic, I broke my right ankle. Fortunately, during my recovery, because of the help from my husband and daughter, I had time to become a Certified Personal Trainer. This certification allows me to incorporate weights and other tools along with traditional yoga, bringing a unique experience to each session. In 2021, I added the Stretching and Flexibility Coach certification. During this course, I discovered Stick Mobility and added the instructor certification in 2022. My clients benefit from using the Mobility Sticks during Yoga/Fitness sessions.
In 2023, at the age of 71, I became a Certified Wellness Coach. Over the past several years, my exploration in the areas of movement, fitness, and self-awareness has invigorated my life. I am eager to work with you to propel your Wellness forward.
